Address: Żeglarska 8 , Toruń
Once the Dąmbski Palace located at 8 Żeglarska Street, was also called the Bishop's Palace. The building was erected on the framework of two gothic tenement houses by the bishop of Kujawy Stanisław Dąmbski in 1693. Currently, it has a baroque character, which is particularly evident in the richly decorated details on the facade, floral and floral motifs and the ornamental portal. Before it became the seat of the Intermedia Art Department, it had various functions, including an inn and a hotel. Until the end of the 18th century, the owners of the palace were representatives of the Dąmbski family. In 1800 it was sold to a Prussian official, then it housed a hotel, and in 1870 it was taken over for the needs of the Prussian army. In the years 1874-1887 its form was rebuilt, removing the baroque portal, the gable and changing the roof structure. From 1920 to 1924 it was the seat of the State Police, and after the Second World War the Society of Fine Arts.
