Monument to Nicolaus Copernicus located on the Old Town Square in Toruń, made of bronze by the German sculptor Fryderyk Abraham Tieck. It presents the figure of an outstanding astronomer dressed in a professor's gown, who is holding an astrolabe in his hand and pointing the sky with his right finger. The monument is located on a platform around which stone benches connected to it are located, while in front of the statue there is a stone well. The Latin inscription on the front of the monument is '' Nicolaus Copernicus Thorunensis. Terrae motor, Solis Caelique stator. '' Meaning "Nicolaus Copernicus Torunian. He moved the Earth, stopped the Sun and Sky." The author of the text is Toruń professor Rudolf Brohm.
