The wooden church entered in the register of immovable monuments No. 59. Originally, it served as a molenna (prayer house of the Old Believers movement) of the communists. The building was erected in 1912, first in Pogorzelec. The current church tower was added in 1930. The building served Old Believers as a house of prayer in 1913–1941. During World War II it was significantly damaged, but after the war it was rebuilt. From 1982, after moving to the current place of the village of Giby and adapting to sacred functions, it serves as a Roman Catholic parish church.
